LAW OFFICE OF BRIAN SCHMONSEES
|
I earned a degree from the University of California-Berkeley in 2000 and graduated from the University of Oregon Law School in 2005. While in law school I tutored first-year law students in Constitutional Law and I represented citizens accused of DUII in Lane County where I tried (and won) my first jury trial. I then moved on to the Metropolitan Public Defenders office in Portland, Oregon, and I worked as a staff attorney for more than ten years. I worked in every unit at MPD, giving me a wide base of experience so I can provide a holistic defense for my clients. In the past few years, I have tried scores of jury trials with great results. I also have an extensive motion practice, and several appellate opinions resulting from my trial level work have restored the rights of citizens whose rights were violated by the government. I believe that preparation, research and a strong cross examination lead to great results in court.
